Fun Trench Coats

Orla Kiely - Monsoon - Orla Kiely

The trench coat has definitely become a classic of a lady's wardrobe. It's easy to wear as it goes pretty much with everything, it sustained itself through many decades and even though it was born as the English army raincoat it's incredibly feminine. But it doesn't have to be necessary beige, or blue or khaki :) These patterns with apples, birds, flowers or polka dots are so pretty and I think they would be also the best way to give some fun and color to any rainy day!

Ciao! I love trench coats. They are so fashionable. I did a post on trench coats awhile back. Hope you have a great day!

Perfect for this very rainy day ! My favorite ones are the Modcloth with flying birds and of course the grey Orla Kiely with little apples. So cute !
But still, yours from the previous collection is nicer ;-)

I'm mildly obsessed with trench coats. I try on at least 2 a week at thrift stores. The bird one is going to haunt me dreams now. Thanks.

Alessandra, ciao! I'll have a look at it, thanks for letting me know ;)

Genevieve, it's always lovely to hear from you my dear! And guess what, those are my favorite ones too, of course... haha ;) I was looking at my Orla raincoat yesterday, I so look forward to wear it... In a few weeks probably, it's still a bit cold here >_<

Robyn, thank you! The birds one is incredibly pretty, the print is fun yet very elegant and I love the buttons on one side.

Oh what fun ... much more exciting than my boring old black number ...

Oddly enough, I have never taken to the trench coat. I just find that every single girl has one, and it is always black, red, or mostly a shade of beige. That's enough to put me off. I do have a trench-style biker jacket by Armani jeans that I love, but I guess it doesn't count since it's short and not very rain-protective as a result. Having said that, I do like the shape of the Topshop ones you post, and they are certainly not at all boring. Something to consider for Spring 11!!

Kelly, I'm sure your black one goes with everything! I always get all excited by patterns and fun prints and tend to buy the most bizarre things, but that way I end up without the very basic pieces and when I need that "simple black thing" to put on, I realize I never had it ;)
