White flowers

Last weekend was a way for me to get back to the good old habits after my trip to Ireland: waking up late, a walk in the park, a delicious ice-cream and a low key evening, watching a movie on the couch with Julius on my lap. It may sound extremely simple, but after working so hard last week I seriously needed it!

Lo scorso weekend e' stato per me un modo per ritornare alle buone vecchie abitudini dopo il viaggio in Irlanda: sveglia tardi, una passeggiata nel parco, un buon gelato e una serata tranquilla con Alf e Julius guardando un film sul divano. Sembreranno cose estremamente semplici ma dopo tanto lavoro ne avevo un bisogno immenso! 

We went to the Memorial Park, an enchanting place on the highest point of the town. This park was opened in the 20s to commemorate the four thousand Turin soldiers who died in World War I and to celebrate their victory: each tree bears a nameplate of a soldier. The park was also born as an arboretum experiment, with more than 400 botanical species. Today the trees are more than 20000: experiment succeeded :)

Siamo stati al Parco della Rimembranza, un posto incantevole che si trova sul punto piu' alto della citta'. Come suggerisce il nome, questo parco degli anni '20 e' nato per ricordare i quattromila caduti torinesi della prima guerra mondiale e celebrarne la vittoria: ad ognuno di essi e' dedicato un albero, a cui e' affissa una targa col suo nome. Inoltre il parco costituiva un arboreto sperimentale, con piu' di 400 specie botaniche differenti. Oggi gli alberi sono piu' di ventimila, esperimento riuscito :)

This 50s dress was another gift from Alf's mom and I adore it. She used to wear it either with the ribbon on the front like I did, or on the back, with her hair up in a perfect beehive. I also wore it that way, adding my lace peter pan collar from Urban Outfitters and the result was really pretty.

Questo abito mi e' stato regalato dalla mamma di Alf ed e' degli anni '50. Non ha cuciture sul davanti e lei lo usava sia cosí che con il fiocco dietro il collo e i capelli raccolti.

Ho provato anche ad indossarlo applicando sul lato liscio il colletto di pizzo che ho comprato da Urban Outfitters ed e' risultato davvero carinissimo.

And this bronze statue is the Victory Beacon, it's located on the very top of the hill and you can see it from every corner of Turin, especially in the night. I love my town! :)

Questa statua di bronzo invece e' il Faro della Vittoria, situata sulla cima del colle ed e' visibile da tutta Torino, soprattutto di notte. Ma quanto e' bella la mia citta' :)
