We all have some clothes that make a come back year after year in the same season, things that sum up the personality of our wardrobe and that we (sort of) couldn't be without.
Today, after a big tidy up session, I thought of sharing with you a selection of the things I wear the most during the spring.

I'm sure you've noticed that I'm very much a dress person, whenever I enter a clothes shop that's the first thing that grabs my attention. Dresses are my go-to thing when I just can't decide what to wear, standing endlessly in front of my closet looking at the row of separates: I put a dress on and I'm ready!
In springtime I love fun prints, they always put me in a good mood.

Avrete ormai intuito che il capo che amo di piu' sono gli abiti e quando entro in un negozio sono sempre la prima cosa da cui vengo attirata. Sono perfetti soprattutto per quei giorni in cui "esisto" davanti all'armadio, scorrendo con sguardo assente la fila di gonne, camicette e cardigan domandandomi "cosa mi metto?": infilo un abito e via, pronta!
In primavera piu' che mai adoro i tessuti a fantasia, mi mettono sempre di buonumore.
Vedrete Julius molto spesso in queste foto, stavolta e' stato proprio terribile... :)
This TBA dress is perfect for every single day: when it's cold I pair it with tights and a cardigan, when it's sunny and warm a skinny belt and sandals is all it needs!
Questo vestito di TBA e' perfetto per tutti i giorni, quando fa piu' freddo lo uso coi collant spessi e un cardigan, in questi giorni invece bastano una cintura sottile e un paio di sandali.
This dress is from Nadinoo and it's my most recent crush. It's lovingly handmade (as all Nadia's beautiful clothes), the Liberty cotton is soft and fresh and those little birdies are simply adorable :)

Another favorite is this 40s dress, I bought if from Allen & co, an Etsy shop that I heart and I practically lived in it last summer.
Questo invece e' un vestito vintage che ho acquistato da Allen & co, una boutique Etsy che mi piace molto. La scorsa estate l'ho usato moltissimo, e' degli anni '40 e ha una cintura che si lega dietro la schiena con un fiocco.
Maybe because it's the very first thing I grab from my closet as soon as the weather gets warmer, but if you say 'spring wardrobe' then the first thing that comes to my mind is a trench coat. A classic, so versatile: puts instantly together a casual outfit and feels very feminine on a more elegant look.
My favorite is the beige staple piece, it goes with pretty much everything and I love pairing it with navy and black&white polka dots. I've worn it every single day when I was in Ireland and right now dry cleaning is taking good care of it, so I'll just show you my other beige passe-partout.

Sara' perche' lo tiro giu' dall'armadio prima ancora di imbattermi nel cambio stagione, ma la prima cosa che mi viene in mente quando penso a un guardaroba primaverile e' inevitabilmente il trench. Un classico, estremamente versatile: dona femminilita' a una mise sportiva e cade a meraviglia su un look da sera. Il mio preferito e' l'intramontabile beige, lo metto letteralmente con tutto e mi piace tantissimo accostarlo al navy e ai pois bianchi e neri. L'ho usato tutti i giorni durante il mio viaggio in Irlanda e ora e' in tintoria, cosí stavolta vi mostrero' l'altro mio passe-partout beige, altrettanto carino e versatile.
A denim jacket is very easy to wear, but I only really like the ones with a girly cut, possibly with puff sleeves!

Un giubbottino di jeans e' un capo molto semplice da abbinare, pero' io amo piu' che altro i modelli molto femminili, un po' frivoli, segnati in vita e possibilmente con le maniche leggermente a sbuffo :)
A pair of simple, pretty flats. They look lovely with both dresses and jeans and are my first choice when I know I'm going to be walking most of the day.
Un paio di ballerine, semplici e graziose. Stanno bene sia coi vestiti che con i jeans e sono le mie migliori alleate per i giorni in cui so che mi attenderanno lunghe camminate.
Platform heels, high but comfortable! I can only wear regular 5 inch heels for like 15 minutes before start screaming, but when I walk on these it all becomes so easy :)
Un paio di scarpe alte per le occasioni piu' eleganti, ma che siano soprattutto comode, con un bel plateau deciso. La mia autonomia su un normale tacco 12 e' di circa quindici minuti, con queste scarpe invece riesco a stare tranquilla tutta la serata :)
Clogs! I like wearing them with and without tights, pairing them mostly with floral dresses and 70s maxi skirts.
Un paio di zoccoli! Io li indosso sia coi collant che senza e li uso soprattutto con abitini a fiori e con gonne lunghe anni'70.
More vintage! A polka dot pleated skirt and and a white embroidered skirt, both from the 50s.
Ancora vintage tra i miei capi preferiti, una gonna a pois a pieghe sottili e una gonna bianca traforata, entrambe degli anni '50.
In every lady's wardrobe there's always a little white blouse. I always loved this one and I usually end up wearing it with either a high waisted skirt and a cardigan, or layered under a shift dress.
Nell'armadio di una fanciulla non manca mai una camicetta bianca. Questa e' una di quelle che uso di piu' e amo abbinarla a una gonna a vita alta e un cardigan, oppure indossarla sotto un abito smanicato.

Scarves! Such a fun thing to wear: simply around the neck for a casual look or tied up in a side bow to get a ladylike retro feel. It can give a touch of color to a hat or a bag and it looks very pretty when used as a headband.
Foulard! Lo indosso in mille modi: intorno al collo in modo semplice per un look casual o creando un fiocco di lato per un effetto piu' retro'. Legato a un cappello, al manico di una borsa, usato come cintura o come fascia per capelli.
And lastly, sunnies. These 60s frames have been given me by Alf's mom and I love having them in different colors, as they have got the perfect cat eye shape that I look for.
E infine, occhiali da sole, in questo periodo non ne posso proprio fare a meno. Queste montature vintage sono degli anni '60 e mi sono state regalate dalla mamma di Alf.
