Last day of the year

Happy New Year to all of you! The last day of my 2011 was blessed with a beautiful sunshine, it almost felt like an early spring... so before getting caught in the usual New Year madness I couldn't resist a last little walk to the park twirling in my new red velvet dress, handmade by my adorable mom. It turned out even prettier than I expected, I truly love it!

Buon Anno a tutti! L'ultimo giorno del mio 2011 e' iniziato con una mattina piena di sole, c'era anche quel leggero tepore per cui sembrava quasi un inizio di primavera...così, prima di venire travolta dalle mille cose da fare per prepararsi alla sera di Capodanno, non ho resistito e mi sono regalata un'ultima piccola passeggiata nel parco, saltellando tutta contenta col mio nuovo vestito di velluto rosso fatto dalla mamma. E' venuto ancora piu' carino di quanto potessi immaginare!

Since the idea of making it was closely related with little girl memories, I couldn't help but style it adding this vintage flower brooch from my own childhood, pale tights and the most darling princess coat I own, which happens to be basically my luckiest thrift find of all times. I found it a few weeks ago at the vintage fair here in Turin: under a pile of old pre-owned clothes, a beautiful indigo Miu Miu coat, in my size and the price on the tag was a real bargain, I still cannot believe it!

Dal momento che l'idea di realizzarlo era strettamente legata ai ricordi d'infanzia, non potevo che abbinarlo a questa spilla vintage di quando ero piccola, calze color crema e il cappottino piu' tenero che abbia, che e' anche il mio ritrovamento piu' fortunato di tutti i tempi. La caccia al tesoro e' avvenuta qualche settimana fa al Gran Balon, la fiera vintage che c'e' una volta al mese qui a Torino: in mezzo a una pila di abiti vecchi, ecco un delizioso cappotto color indaco, di Miu Miu, nella mia taglia e a un prezzo ridicolo, ancora non ci credo!
