Vabbè. Oggi i miei piani prevedevano di farvi vedere la terza variante della serie ode-al-trench, ma il tempo ha proprio deciso di non collaborare, piove talmente tanto che non oso nemmeno immaginare di portare la mia macchina fotografica là fuori. Così, per ravvivare un po' le cose, direi che e' il momento di un regalino!
Se mi seguite su Instagram mi avrete sicuramente vista indossare queste ballerine piu' di una volta, sono diventate un po' le mie scarpette di salvataggio ultimamente perche' stanno bene proprio con tutto. One trench, three ways - part 2: "Dinner date"

Hello my lovelies! Second round with the "ode-to-the-trench" mini series: with today's outfit (well, actually that was two weeks ago, when spring was real spring and not gloomy and cold as it is now!) I took my favorite spring coat to dinner! Here I was ready for an evening date with my girl friends, it was  an all you can eat time at the sushi restaurant, so knowing very well that I usually like to stuff my face with maki until I'm so full that I can barely move, I decided to keep it comfortable... so, instead of the classic formal and more 'put together' little black dress, I picked this equally versatile vintage piece, that is super soft and has that kind of shape that lets you eat all the food in the world and still you know that nobody will ever notice ;)
The fringe is growing, and you know what? I'm starting to really like it, I think it will definitely keep me good company for another little while! Buondì mie care! Seconda "puntata" della miniserie dedicata al trench: con l'outfit di oggi (uhm, in realta' di un paio di settimane fa, quando ad aprile era ancora primavera e non autunno inoltrato!) trasformiamo il nostro amato impermeabile in versione sera. Qui ero pronta per andare a cena con le mie amiche del cuore e il menu' prevedeva sushi all you can eat, quindi ben sapendo che la serata sarebbe finita rotolando con la pancia piena di maki, ho voluto tenere un aspetto informale... così, invece del tubino classico (che e' un altro capo salvavita, prima o poi dedichero' una miniserie anche a lui!), ho scelto questo altrettanto versatile "little-black-dress", che e' vintage, tagliato in vita come piace a me e morbidissimo. 
La frangia cresce, e indovinate? Non ho nessuna voglia di mandarla via, sta iniziando a piacermi :) Buon weekend a tutti e alla prossima, ed ultima, puntata dedicata al trench... preparatevi a vedere qualcosa che in questo blog non avete mai visto!

One trench, three ways - part 1: "Afternoon walk"

If I had to choose one single piece in my wardrobe that I couldn't stay without this spring, that would be a classic trench: it's such a lifesaver! It goes with everything, with any color and on any occasion, from formal to casual, romantic, elegant or preppy. It's perfect for when you have no idea of what to wear and even when you feel like your outfit is a bit dull, you just tie your belt, pretend to be Anna Karina in 'Made in U.S.A.' and everything feels better! This Orla Kiely coat in particular is undoubtedly my favorite thing lately: the length, the color, the cut... I'm completely in love with it :)
So in this ode-to-the-trench mood I decided to create a little series of outfit posts dedicated to this evergreen piece, styling it in three different ways for various occasions.
I had so much fun with this first outfit. So here is "a relaxing afternoon walk around town"!

Se dovessi scegliere dal mio guardaroba un solo capo a cui non potrei mai fare a meno in primavera, sarebbe il trench classico: e' un salvavita! Sta bene con qualsiasi cosa, con qualunque colore ed e' adatto ad ogni occasione, sia essa formale, casual, romantica, elegante o sportiva. E' perfetto per quando non sai cosa metterti e persino quando ti sei "vestita al buio" basta allacciarlo, far finta di avere un'aria interessante tipo Anna Karina in 'Una storia americana' e ti senti a posto con il mondo! Questo trench in particolare e' senza dubbio la cosa che ho indossato di piu' da quando e' finito l'inverno, chi mi sta vicino sa che l'ho messo quasi ogni giorno :) 
E' quindi con questa "ode al trench" che ho pensato di dedicargli una serie di post outfittosi, in cui mi diverto ad interpretarlo in tre diverse occasioni della giornata. 
La prima e' forse la mia preferita, una tranquilla passeggiata pomeridiana in citta'!

Alf took these pics of me last week, when we suddenly had a short and unexpected mini-summer in town. Walking around with bare legs was simply amazing! 
You know me and my everyday afternoon outfit couldn't involve anything else but a girlie dress! This one has been lovingly handmade by Katie-Louise Ford using a vintage fabric and you have no idea of how many times I've been wearing it already, I absolutely adore it. Comfortable flats (these darlings almost risked to end up on ebay one day as I needed room in my closet... I am SO glad that I changed my mind!) and a tiny vintage bag that I found at a local flea market last Christmas. The ribbon was actually a last minute idea, I stole it from a pack of biscuits! 
My friend Lolla, who has a youtube channel where you can find both pretty outfits (like this one, so cute!) and beauty tips, will join me in this "3ways" game, so we'll be soon picking up a new item to style for different occasions. I'm so curious to see what will happen next!

Alf mi ha scattato queste foto la settimana scorsa, quando sembrava quasi fosse esplosa improvvisamente l'estate.. che meraviglia stare in giro senza i collant! Per la mise pomeridiana ho scelto le cose che per me sono più pratiche: un vestito, in questo caso fatto a mano da Katie-Louise Ford con un morbidissimo tessuto vintage, scarpe basse (che in un attimo di follia-da-ordine-mentale stavo per mettere su ebay... meno male che alla fine ho cambiato idea!) e una borsetta vintage piccola piccola con giusto il necessario (le monetine per comprare il gelato e un micro pettinino per tenere a bada la mia nuova frangia). Il nastro per legare i capelli l'ho improvvisato last minute rubandolo da un pacco di biscotti :)
La mia amica Lolla, che ha un canale youtube dedicato principalmente a makeup e bellezza e che molto spesso si diverte anche a condividere i suoi outfit (un po' come questo, carinissimo), presto mi affianchera' in questo gioco dei "3modi" e insieme vi proporremo un nuovo capo d'abbigliamento abbinato in tante maniere diverse. Sono curiosissima di vedere cosa ne verra' fuori!

Happy Easter everyone! In case you have noticed my short disappearance, yes, I have been indeed enjoying my holiday far from any pencils and computer screens :) I've actually been quite busy with a little secret-something I will tell you about very soon, and also took the chance to spend some time with my mom, she came to stay with me for a few days which was a lot of fun!
Anyways, after a couple of beautifully sunny bare-legs weeks that felt very much like summer, the weather turned cloudy again here with darker skies and a chilly breeze, and it somehow inspired me to share this whimsical editorial I found on Vogue a while ago. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I do, these flowy chiffon gowns are pure XIX century fairytale goodness.

Buona Pasqua a tutti! Sono allegramente sparita per qualche giorno per godermi una sana vacanza lontana da lavoro, matite e computer :) In realta' poi ho avuto un sacco da fare, per una cosina un po' segreta di cui vi prometto che vi parlero' molto presto, e ho avuto anche occasione di passare un po' di tempo con la mia mamma, che e' venuta a trovarmi apposta ed e' stata un tesoro come sempre. 
Ad ogni modo, dopo un paio di splendide settimane praticamente estive in cui sono addirittura uscita senza calze (io! "miss ho-freddo-anche-a-giugno"!) il tempo si e' di nuovo rinfrescato, portando nuvoloni e un forte vento, e in qualche modo mi ha ricordato questo editoriale che ho trovato su Vogue un mesetto fa. Spero vi piaccia tanto quanto ha fatto sognare me, questi abiti sembrano usciti da un libro di favole dell'Ottocento.
