Full skirt

Sometimes a garment can change, other than our mood of course, also the way we move. With heels I feel like something is constantly reminding me to keep my back straight, with an A-line dress all my gestures are wider and I can easily find myself rolling on the parquet with my cats; with a 40s frock I would always sit crossing my legs like a gentlelady and when I wear a full skirt, well I can't help, I have to make it twirl :) There's just something about having the hem tickling the knees and all your movements followed by the soft fabric with a couple of seconds of delay just before settling back... ok sorry, that was my animator side taking over. Ahh I adore full skirts!

Ci sono capi d'abbigliamento che in qualche modo cambiano, oltre allo stato d'animo, anche il modo in cui ci muoviamo. Con i tacchi e' come se qualcosa mi ricordasse costantemente di tenere la schiena dritta, con un abito a trapezio tutti i miei gesti si fanno piu' ampi e posso tranquillamente rotolarmi sul parquet coi miei gatti; quando ho un vestito anni '40 sto seduta composta come una signorina per bene e quando indosso una gonna a ruota, non ci posso fare niente, devo farla ruotare :) Il tessuto che fa solletico intorno alle ginocchia e segue ogni movimento con quel paio di secondi di ritardo prima di assestarsi... ok scusate, quella era la mia meta' da animatore che ha preso per un attimo il sopravvento! Ahh adoro le gonne a ruota...

I promised that I would have showed you again this Licia Florio dress without any heavy coat on, and it wasn't hard at all to keep my word, as I have been wearing it so often and I love it more and more every time. 

The satchel is vintage and the headpiece is a little gift from Michela of MyMikiJoy, she's a lovely gal and creates with remnant fabric, lace and ribbon the prettiest hair accessories. 

The Chie Mihara shoes are a personal favorite, actually you might remember that I managed to wear them even in the snow! I bought them last year on Spartoo and if you were looking for them you can still  grab your pair on sale. Have a great week everyone!

Vi avevo promesso che vi avrei fatto rivedere questo abito di Licia Florio senza cappottoni invernali addosso e non e' stato difficile mantenere la parola, l'ho indossato tantissime volte in questi mesi e mi piace sempre di piu'.

La cartella e' vintage, mentre il cerchietto e' un regalino di Michela di MyMikiJoy, lei e' molto carina e crea con ritagli, nastri e pizzi degli accessori davvero graziosi e dal gusto un po' retrò. 

Le scarpe Chie Mihara invece ormai le conoscete bene, sono fedelissime e pronte-a-tutto (vi ricordate? vanno anche sulla neve)! Le avevo comprate l'anno scorso su Spartoo e se le state cercando le trovate ancora in saldo. Buona settimana a tutti!

Leur Logette

Leur Logette is a japanese brand which means in French "their little room" and has its own magazine, published biannually, to feature their latest collections. I found this editorial in the Spring issue and I found it so beautiful that I was curious to know more about the artist behind it. I use the word 'artist' because I clearly felt that the person behind it was not only a photographer, but someone who is also gifted by a deep sense of design, texture and what I would describe as 'line grace', if we were speaking of an illustrator. So when I googled it and found that Sayaka Maruyama raised on drawing, painting, designing and editing films before finding her passion for photography, I wasn't surprised at all. I had a look at her personal work too and I find it incredibly inspiring. Plus she's japanese, so I have a new favorite now :)

Leur Logette e' un marchio giapponese che in francese significa "la loro piccola stanza" e ha il suo magazine, pubblicato due volte l'anno, per presentare le sue collezioni. Ho trovato questo editorial nell'ultimo numero e l'ho trovato così splendido che ho voluto scoprire di piu' sull'artista dietro l'obiettivo. E qui uso apposta la parola 'artista', perche' ho avuto la chiarissima impressione che non si trattasse solo di un fotografo, ma di qualcuno con un forte senso del design, della texture e di quella che io descriverei come 'grazia della linea', se stessimo parlando per esempio di un illustratore. Così, quando ho iniziato a investigare e ho scoperto che Sayaka Maruyama e' cresciuta disegnando, dipingendo e montando film prima di scoprire la sua passione per la fotografia, non mi sono affatto stupita. Ho dato un'occhiata anche ai suoi lavori personali e trovo che abbia molto talento. In piu' e' giapponese, quindi questo fa automaticamente di lei una nuova preferita :)

By Hand - Spring 2012

This spring edition of ByHand has been definitely one that I'll be treasuring along with the happiest memories of the year. There were my friends, my favorite italian designers and A LOT of pretty things handmade with love. This time I'll let the pictures telling you about my day, anyways I came back home exhausted but with a big smile on my face... and a little bit of shopping too ;)

Quest'ultima edizione primaverile del ByHand e' stata una di quelle che portero' piu' nel cuore: c'erano le mie amiche, c'erano tante designer italiane che adoro e c'erano una VALANGA di cose adorabili. Stavolta lascero' che siano le mie fotografie a raccontarvi di quella giornata, ad ogni modo sono tornata a casa con un gran sorriso - un po' di shopping - e i piedi distrutti, come ad ogni ByHand!

Back in january I promised myself that one of my new years resolutions would be having more fun with my hair. Well, I'd say that the unexpected fringe pretty much did the job already but still I was inspired to try something new to play with: heidi braids! I'm so glad that I did, they are really comfortable to wear, super easy to do (I only used 4 bobby pins) and they instantly took me back to one of those anime set at the end of 1800 that I used to watch when I was a little girl :)

Avevo promesso che uno dei miei buoni propositi per l'anno nuovo sarebbe stato quello di divertirmi un po' di piu' con i miei capelli. L'arrivo completamente inatteso della frangia ha fatto la sua parte piu' che in abbondanza, ma devo dire che questa cosa mi ha anche dato l'ispirazione per provare nuove acconciature, e così: ta-dan, oggi trecce retro'! Sono molto comode da portare, si fanno in un attimo (ho usato solo quattro forcine) e mi hanno immediatamente teletrasportata in uno di quei cartoni animati ambientati nella fine dell'Ottocento che guardavo da bambina :)
